Principal's Message

Welcome to Pinewood Avenue Elementary School!

It is an honor to serve as the principal of a school community that is committed to helping every child learn, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging. At Pinewood, we believe that every child has genius within them. It is our responsibility and privilege to discover each student’s strengths, nurture their gifts, and help them grow into confident, capable, and caring leaders.

 

Our dedicated teachers and staff work together to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students. We are committed to academic excellence through high-quality instruction, targeted support, and meaningful learning experiences that encourage students to think critically, collaborate, create, and persevere. We also value the development of the whole child by supporting students’ social-emotional growth, leadership skills, creativity, and sense of responsibility.

 

As part of LAUSD’s commitment to preparing students to be Ready for the World, we strive to ensure that every student is equipped with the academic skills, confidence, leadership habits, and character needed to succeed in school and beyond. As a Leader in Me school, we encourage our students to take ownership of their learning, make positive choices, and recognize the leader within themselves.

 

Whether students are participating in classroom learning, the arts, robotics, Conga Kids, student leadership opportunities, or schoolwide events, our goal is to help them discover their strengths and use them to make a positive impact.

 

Families are an essential part of our school community. We value your partnership and believe that when schools and families work together, students thrive. I encourage you to stay connected, ask questions, participate in school events, and continue to be an active part of your child’s educational journey.
